Energy Tech Summit – Europe’s leading cleantech event – announced that it will host “Growth Meets Capital”, an exclusive side event, scheduled to take place during the summit on April 10-11, 2024, in Bilbao, Spain.

The side event is curated by partners BBVA, a Spanish multinational financial services company, and venture capital firm Contrarian Ventures. It will bring together influential growth investors and breakout climate tech startup founders (Series A+) to explore deal-making opportunities in a closed-door setting.

Growth Meets Capital is expected to accommodate around 30 growth funds and 50 companies. Notable participants include industry leaders such as EQT VenturesLightrockEnergy Impact PartnersInven, and others, all of whom have already confirmed their attendance.

“We are extremely excited to start this partnership with BBVA and bring the Energy Tech Summit to Bilbao – an emerging innovation hotspot to host the global climate tech community. With the launch of the Growth Meets Capital event, we are aiming to accelerate and fast-track founders’ fundraising journey by bringing who-is-who in the climate tech investor community,” said Rokas Peciulaitis, Founder & Managing Partner at Contrarian Ventures and Founder & Chairman of Energy Tech Summit. “It’s going to be one of the most productive days this year for climate tech founders. Deals will get done here. You want to be here,” he added.

Growth funds invited to join the closed event will get a dedicated branded space to explore more specific networking opportunities aligned with their goals. To maximize engagement, joining funds will have an opportunity to invite a startup from their portfolio.

Founders, on the other hand, can anticipate exclusive perks, like the curated agenda that ensures that every meeting is purposeful and impactful, providing opportunities to meet active investors that target more mature companies in cleantech.

The event will be complemented by a Michelin-star dinner at the renowned Nerua restaurant at the Guggenheim Museum, offering an exceptional setting for further discussions and connection-building.

With limited seats available, interested parties are invited to request an invite in advance, ensuring an unparalleled opportunity for networking and collaboration at this gathering.
