Be part of the team behind Energy Tech Summit – and get in the room with 1,500+ investors, founders, and energy leaders driving the clean energy transition.
Apply by February 15th.
As an Energy Tech Summit volunteer, you’ll join the team behind one of the most exciting energy and climate tech events in Europe. Over two days in Bilbao on April 7–8, 2027, you’ll help run the summit while surrounded by the investors, founders, and corporate leaders shaping the future of the energy industry – from clean energy startups raising their next round to the funds and corporates backing them.
If you’re studying energy, sustainability, or climate tech – or trying to break into the industry – volunteering at ETS is your shortcut in. Instead of watching from the audience, you’ll be part of the team that makes the event happen, building real event experience, industry contacts, and a reference you can use long after the summit ends.

Volunteering at Energy Tech Summit isn’t unpaid badge-scanning. In exchange for your time, you get the kind of access most people pay four figures for. Here’s what comes with your volunteer spot – beyond two full days of conference access at Europe’s leading energy tech event.
Two full days at ETS – sessions, keynotes, and the exhibition floor, alongside 1,400+ leaders from across Europe and beyond.
An invitation to the ETS networking night held outside the venue – where the day’s conversations turn into connections. One of the highlights of the summit.
Complete both volunteer days and receive a recommendation letter from the ETS team – proof of experience at a major international event.
Two days embedded in the most concentrated gathering of energy and climate tech decision-makers in Europe.
Work directly alongside speakers and jury members – interactions you won’t find on any ticket tier.
Lunch provided on both conference days.

Volunteers are assigned to one of three teams. You can indicate a preference when you apply.
You’re the first face 1,500+ attendees see when they walk in. You set the tone — organised, warm, and calm under pressure.
You’re backstage with the people everyone else came to see. Escort speakers, support jury members, and sit in on conversations most attendees never get near.
The go-to person when attendees need directions, session info, or help finding their next meeting. You know the venue better than anyone.
No prior event experience is required to volunteer at Energy Tech Summit. We look for people who are reliable, proactive, and genuinely curious about energy and climate tech – the kind of person who follows the industry because they want to, not because they have to.
We’ll brief you fully before the summit, so you’ll arrive in Bilbao knowing exactly what your role involves and ready from day one. Two days like these are where internships, first jobs, and industry contacts start – conversations you’d never get through a job board.
– Students and recent graduates in energy, sustainability, engineering, or innovation
– Early-career professionals looking to break into the climate tech space
– Anyone who wants a front-row seat to where the industry is heading
– People genuinely excited about clean energy and what’s next for Europe
Fill in the form by February 15. Tell us who you are and why you want to be part of the Energy Tech Summit team.
We review every application and get back to you personally. We’re looking for reliability, curiosity, and genuine interest in the space.
If it’s a match, you’ll get your role assignment, briefing details, and everything you need to get ready.
Energy Tech Summit 2027 takes place on April 7–8 in Bilbao, Bizkaia, Spain. Volunteers are on site for both full conference days, plus a pre-event briefing – so by the time the doors open, you’ll know the venue, your team, and your role inside out.

Bilbao, Bizkaia, Spain – venue details shared upon confirmation
April 8 – from 08:00 until 16:30
Pre-event briefing held before the summit so you arrive fully prepared

No. Most Energy Tech Summit volunteers are students or early-career professionals in energy, sustainability, engineering, or innovation – but anyone reliable and genuinely interested in the space can apply, regardless of background or career stage.
Working English is required, as it’s the language of the summit. Spanish or Basque is a plus for on-site roles, but not a requirement – ETS is an international event with attendees from 51 countries.
The briefing will take place online.
Full days – roughly 08:00 to 18:00 on Day 1 and 08:00 to 16:30 on Day 2, with breaks scheduled throughout. It’s an intense two days, but that’s exactly why it’s worth it. Come rested.
